Here's what the kids had to say about our visit on their class web page:

Mr McIntyre came to show us how he made his first children's book, and how long it took him before he actually made the book. Mr McIntyre is a digger driver and he has written a book about his digger, and the work he does. The book is called, "Doug the Digger".
Mr McIntyre found some artists to sketch and then draw Doug the Digger and the other characters in the story. I'm sure that Mr McIntyre will become a fine author one day.

Doug the Digger is a fantastic and funny book. Mr McIntyre made the interesting book. It took him three years to make. Room 5 came down to watch Mr McIntyre, too. Lauren

The author Mr McIntyre came to see us. He read his book for us. The main character is Doug the Digger. There is also a CD with the book. Mr McIntyre played the CD for us, too.
